Marrakech → Ouarzazate via Ait Benhaddou
Leave Marrakech by 8am to avoid heat on the pass. Ait Benhaddou requires 1.5h including the walk across the river. Ouarzazate studios are open 8am–6pm.
Ouarzazate → Merzouga via Todra Gorge
Stop at Todra Gorge for 1h minimum — the narrow canyon is spectacular. Last fuel station before Merzouga is in Erfoud (40 km). Book camel trek or quad in advance for sunset.
Merzouga → Marrakech (direct return)
Leave by 6am after sunrise camel trek. Take the N13 via Midelt — faster than returning through Ouarzazate. Arrive Marrakech ~14h00.

Fuel stations available every 60–80 km on the N9/N10 route. Between Erfoud and Merzouga there are no stations (40 km). Diesel widely available; petrol (sans plomb) available at all main towns.
